The Berger Bungalow: Three Years of Marriage

Three Years of Marriage
Posted on:2.03.2018

This is a sponsored post in collaboration with James Avery Jewelry, but all opinions are my own.

This month marks our third marriage anniversary. I always love this time of year because there is so much romance in the air. So many proposals happen during this month, more and more weddings are taking place in February, everyone celebrates Valentines Day, and of course, to us, it is the month of our marriage.

During our three years, we have experienced so much life and have crafted our perfect, unique love story. Here are some of the pages in our love story from this past year:

Ian graduated with his bachelors in Accounting AND his masters in Accounting with a specialization in tax. He also passed all four CPA exams (in under 11 months, all on the first try!).

We purchased our first house and started the long renovation process and started adding pieces that we loved in order to make it feel more like our home. We are still working on this, but every time we renovate a new room, or buy a piece of decor or furniture, it becomes more and more of my happy place.

I have been able to work from home 90% of my work week, making enough income to fund our travels and pay (some) of our bills by doing what I love - freelance writing and blogging.

We have formed amazing relationships with new friends and strengthened old relationships with family members and old friends.

We have eaten chocolate in Amsterdam, visited historic sites in Rome, and explored gorgeous wineries in Montalcino

We have spent time singing together, making up funny dance moves, and goofing off together.

If I kept listing off amazing times we have had together, I would be writing for hours.

We have had so many amazing memories and experiences, but, we have had some hard times, too. Probably more hard times than the average person has in their entire life, but you know what? That is life and we always get through it together, with a positive attitude.

I honestly do not think that we would be able to 'do life' without each other - we are both so different, but we both bring things to the table that the other needs. It really is just a beautiful life that we have created together and one day, I cannot wait to take that beautiful life and share it with future kids!

This month, I really wanted to celebrate our love the right way. So, I decided to plan surprise dates all throughout the month - not just on our anniversary because three years is a big deal and deserves LOTS of celebration, not just one day, right?!

Obviously, I cannot give away all of my secret dates yet because Ian reads my blog, but I will tell you that I cannot wait to share all of the details with you!

Since I am going all out on the dates, I decided that I had to go all out with getting ready, too. If you know me then you know that I like to keep it simple. I don't wear a ton of makeup, I don't really buy new clothes, and I could care less about new shoes, or purses.

But, this month is special and I knew that I had to stand out compared to my normal 'look' so I headed over to James Avery to pick out some gorgeous jewelry in order to look and feel gorgeous on our dates!

I searched the store for at least thirty minutes in order to find the perfect additions. Finally, I fell in love with two pieces from their new Valentine's Day Collection: a Beaded Marquise Ring and Beaded Heart Ear Hooks.

Our love and our relationship is unique, just like your own love stories are unique, and that is why I chose these two pieces. I have never seen anything like them before - they are romantic and unique and perfect in their own way and when I wear these pieces, just like with my engagement ring, I will always think about how special our love is.

There are many reasons why I chose James Avery to shop for my jewelry. For starters, my best friend, Lesley loves them. She wears primarily James Avery jewelry and led me to them because she said that she has never had any issues with her jewelry tarnishing and everything is very high quality.

On top of that, I read about their about their company and knew it was the right choice to give them a visit. James Avery Jewelry is a family-owned company offering finely crafted jewelry designs in sterling silver, 14k, and 18k yellow and white gold, and gemstones for women and men. They are a vertically-owned company, meaning they design, manufacture, market, and sell their own products.

In fact, in the store, I chatted with one of the sales associates and she was telling me how all of their hammered items are actually hand-hammered by individuals. This means that every piece they produce is unique and special - I love this about them!

Everyone in the store was so kind and helpful. They told me that if I ever had any discoloration or problems with my jewelry, just bring it back in and they would help me out. On top of that, if they do not have an item in store that you want to see, they will order it for you, with no obligations. I had an amazing time picking out my jewelry for all of our special dates this month and I highly recommend James Avery Jewelry if you are in search for a special piece, or if you have never been to one of their stores before!

Now that you know part of our love story, I want to know yours. Feel free to also check out more love stories here. Happy love month, friends!
