The Berger Bungalow: Goat cheese, Proscuitto & Fig jam Crostini Recipe

Goat cheese, Proscuitto & Fig jam Crostini Recipe
Posted on:9.27.2015

This might be my new favorite appetizer! This recipe came from the five course dinner that I told you guys about & it was fabulous! The flavors are just amazing put together - if you love a mix of sweet and salty at the same time, this is the dish for you! Try this recipe if you are a fan of these ingredients (or really anything good). You will not be disappointed.

1 fresh baguette
1/8 cup of olive oil
Sea salt
4 ounces of goat cheese, plain, room temperature
6 tablespoons of fig jam
3 slices of proscuitto, cut in half.
6 fresh basil leaves

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
Step 2: Slice six pieces of bread from the baguette. Place your sliced bread on a baking sheet and brush them all with olive oil. Sprinkle a bit of salt on each slice for taste. Bake for 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Let them cool slightly before plating.
Step 3: Spread some goat cheese on each crostini, then a tablespoon of fig jam, the proscuitto on top of the jam, and finally a basil leave on top of it all.
Step 4: Eat those babies and let me know what you think!

The original recipe came from The Italian Dish.

  1. Looks like a delicious recipe!! I never make super fancy stuff, we just make the regular things every meal. This looks like a really easy one to start out on :)

    1. You should definitely try it! If you aren't a huge fan of goat cheese, you could always do whipped cream cheese instead, or half goat and half cream cheese!! :)

  2. I saw goat cheese and was like "YEP OKAY GOAT CHEESE AND BREAD". That seriously looks soooo good and like Autumn said, it looks so fancy, too!
I seriously get goat cheese every single time I go grocery shopping. I eat it with pita chips and fig jam - yum!

  3. Hahahah!! I know! Cheese & bread in one recipe... SOLD! I had to make it & I don't regret it at all!
