The Berger Bungalow: Eating Heavenly Bacon at The Factory Café

Eating Heavenly Bacon at The Factory Café

The Factory Café in Florence, Alabama is what breakfast dreams are made of. Located in the Alabama Chanin factory, this brunch (and lunch, I believe) spot is one that would be hard to find if you did not do your research before traveling to Florence. In fact, most of the people I saw in The Factory Café looked like they were local Florence residents. To be honest, when we first walked in, I thought we were barging into a family meal because of the laughter and joy that we saw coming from the communal tables. The staff must have noticed our hesitation when we first walked through the doors, but they graciously welcomed us right in!

When you order from The Factory Café, you place your order at the counter, grab your drinks, and then find a seat. They will bring your food to you. If you are in a rush, this might not be the best option for you. Maybe it was because of the huge family before us, but our wait was not extremely fast. I like 'slow food' though, so I didn't have an issue with it at all. I just wouldn't come here for a quick grab and go breakfast.

Once our food arrived, we dug in. My sister and I both ordered the house made granola with yogurt and local honey, with a side of cheesy scrambled eggs. Jenny also got a side of bacon, which I wish I would have ordered, as well because they were heavenly. Ian, on the other hand, ended up ordering the farm breakfast. Cheesy scrambled eggs, bacon, pan-fried potatoes, and a buttermilk business soaked with gravy consumed his plate.

I know the title of my post is "Eating Heavenly Bacon at The Factory Café in Florence Alabama," but it really wasn't just the heavenly bacon that drew me in. Yes, it was amazing. Probably the best I've ever had, but everything was just perfect. From the granola (I've tried to recreate it at home and can't), to the coffee and biscuit with gravy, it was perfect. I really wish we had The Factory Café in Atlanta, because I would be there every weekend.

So, if you happen to find yourself in Florence for a weekend, definitely try out The Factory Café. I have been wanting their food since the second I walked out the door and I know you will feel the same way.
