The Berger Bungalow: Local Atlanta // The Ritz Carlton Buckhead High Tea

Local Atlanta // The Ritz Carlton Buckhead High Tea
Posted on:4.04.2016

When I was younger, my grandma would always take myself, my sister & my cousin to High Tea at The Ritz Carlton Buckhead. A lot of time has passed since our last tea, so we figured that it would be a great idea to get some of the girls in our family together and try it out again. I am so glad we got to experience it, because it was a blast. Next time you are in the Atlanta area, definitely make a reservation - you will be so glad that you did!

Our tea started out by looking at the menu. From what I remember, there were three options:

Buckhead Classic Afternoon Tea ($44) which included teas, tea sandwiches, and pastries.

The Ritz Tea ($60) which included everything above, plus a glass of prosecco, and strawberries dressed in Grand Marnier & whipped cream

Children’s Tea (12 and under) which included tea or hot chocolate, tea sandwiches, and freshly baked scones!

We ended up choosing The Buckhead Classic Afternoon Tea, and it was perfect for us. The tea was amazing, and the food was great. They brought out the tea first - my favorite was by far the Vanilla Bean tea! I typically do not like very sweet teas, but it was just so good. When I go back, that is definitely what I am getting. Our first course was the tea sandwiches. It consisted of:

Smoked Salmon, American Caviar
Pumpernickle Bread with Cream Cheese
Cucumber with Dill and Lemon Ricotta Cream
Traditional Egg Salad, with Truffle
Prosciutto and Melon Canape with Mint
Open Faced Turkey Canape with Orange Marmalade
Georgia Shrimp Profiterole with Tarragon and Basil

All of these were great, but my favorites were by far the Smoked Salmon, and Cucumber with Dill and Lemon Ricotta Cream.

The pastry course consisted of:

Tea Cakes
Tarts
Assorted Miniature Tea Cookies
Housemade Candies
Warm Scones
with Devonshire Cream & Strawberry Preserves.

This was by far the highlight of the entire meal! We were served two scones (my favorite part) and I drowned them in the cream & preserves because it was just so good! All of us were definitely in heaven, and even after eating as much as we could, there were still leftovers. Make sure you are really hungry when attending!

We all had a great time, and I cannot wait to go back. Who’s ready to go with me next time?!
